Herman Cain Show Ends After Near Four-Year Run on WHEE
The HERMAN CAIN show will end national syndication today. CAIN made the announcement on his show last month (listen above).
The show will no longer be distributed via DGital MEDIA but will continue on COX MEDIA GROUP stations, including flagship News-Talk WSB-A-WSBB/ATLANTA, WDBO (NEWS 96.5)/ORLANDO, KRMG-A-F/TULSA, WOKV-A-F/JACKSONVILLE, and WHIO-A-F/DAYTON.
In a letter to affiliates including WHEE, CAIN writes that the decision was “made in conjunction with my home station in ATLANTA, and is bittersweet to me.”
WHEE carried the NEAL BOORTZ show previous to CAIN who took over BOORTZ’s timeslot when BOORTZ retired.
“We have not decided on permanent replacement programming yet,” said General Manager Bill Wyatt. “Boortz was a perfect fit for us, and Cain has been close. So far we haven’t found a talk show host or hostess that feels right. We’ll keep looking, but we’re not rushing into a half-baked decision and committing to a contract that doesn’t fit our base.”
WHEE has been broadcasting continuously since 1954. The station is a CBS Radio affiliate and is licensed to serve the city of Martinsville and surrounding area.
