Virgil Lee Holley

Virgil Lee Holley, 84, of Henry, Va., passed away at his home on Sunday, May 20, 2018, after a long illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Lucy Holley; his son, Alan Holley; sisters, Maude Holley and Marie Broom; and brothers, Dewey Shively, Grady, Lloyd, Albert, Thomas, Edgar, Dennis, and Johnny Holley.

He was a hardworking and loving husband and father. He loved working hard and spending time with his family and his church. He retired from his business at Reliable Welding and Fabricators after many years of service.

Surviving is his loving wife of 63 years, Sarah Ferguson Holley; daughters, Mary Holley Sigmon (Ricky) of Rocky Mount, and Dicie Sue Turner of Henry; son, Tim Holley of Henry; one brother, Coy (Lula) Holley of Floyd; and numerous grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

The family requests no food. Memorials may be made to First Assembly of God at 1002 Chatham Heights Martinsville, VA 24112.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Collins Funeral Home in Bassett, Virginia with Pastor Joe Nunley officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Burial Park. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m.
